Spring in Paradise, Emily in Heaven
posted May 15, 2013
Greetings from Traverse City, Leelanau County, Northern Michigan on the shores of Lake Michigan – one of the most exquisite places on the planet. The woods are blanketed in white with trillium, the orchards are lined with rows of cherry trees covered in white blossoms. Yellow forsythia is singing, tulips are smiling in bright reds and yellows. Trees are grinning in lime green and everywhere I look is evidence of Emily! You would love it here.
Your love of gardening is still having an impact on the world. Everyone is very excited about the “Belle” shows this weekend to raise money for the Traverse Area District Library Garden. The three performances are in the Old Town Playhouse Studio Theatre at the Depot, which is an old train station converted into a absolutely delicious and intimate theatre space. Right before rehearsals, I took a quick peak into the library – it’s heavenly! A very unique space, stunning architecture, beautiful layout, cool art, warm atmosphere, inviting displays, and all the latest technology – I can’t wait to go back when I can spend some time and just wander. What I would give to live in a town with a library like this one!
Well, I need to call it a night – big day tomorrow – tech rehearsal and I still need to bake the “black cake”!
