Notes From Sinda
Thank You Julie

Julie Harris was the actor who most inspired me when I was a young woman starting out in theatre. She continued to greatly inspire me as began my journey with you and “Belle”. Julie Harris has been my role model both onstage and off and I am so deeply appreciative and grateful.
I’ll never forget my mother coming home from seeing Julie Harris perform “The Belle of Amherst” and saying to me – ‘you remind me so much of her, you have to do this role someday’. Whether she met Emily or Julie, I’ll never know, but since then I always felt a special connection to her. So Emily, you’ve got a new friend – what bliss.
“God comes to us in theatre in the way we communicate with each other, whether it be a symphony orchestra, or a wonderful ballet or a beautiful painting or a play. It’s a way of expressing our humanity.” Julie Harris (December 2, 1925 – August 24, 2013)
I’m so moved to be performing “Belle” this evening. Tonight’s for you, Julie.
